Spacing

Spacing (also called a diastema) is simply a space or gap between two adjacent teeth. This is usually the result of poor oral habits such as tongue thrusting or finger sucking. Spacing can also occur when there is an unequal relationship between the size of the teeth and jaw. While not harmful to your overall dental health, spaces between teeth is an unsightly condition, which leads to a generally poor smile.
